These phrases are all part of making easy, risk-free money through sports trading, or so they say...

However, we all know there is no such thing as easy money!

Many websites nowadays promote sports arbitrage and the fact that anyone can do it!

Indeed anyone can do it, provided they are above the age limit of course.

But the bad news is...

Sports arbitrage is not get rich quick! And you won't make an income remotely close to allow you to retire.

The good news though, is that there is another means of making some risk-free profits. A means we will discuss through the Surebets guide and it's called Matched Betting. It's the only 'sure bet' you can rely on!

On the other hand...

...there is a lot of poor information on the web when it comes to sports arbitrage. Much of this advice comes from websites who are either selling an arbitrage service or are associated with a service.

If you are thinking about sports arbitrage as a way to make some extra cash, or maybe even a fulltime career, then read on...

...because we might change your mind!

Sports arbitrage is a means of guaranteeing a profit by using different bookmakers and sportsbooks.

A single bookmaker would never allow you to profit by betting on all outcomes of an event. Different bookmakers, however, will have different opinions and therefore different prices for their markets.

This creates an opportunity for people to take advantage of bookmakers' contrasting views.

I've personally spent the last 20 years trading a variety of sports, and I began studying sports arbitrage 10 years ago as a means of gaining an advantage over the 'house'.

However, there are much safer methods to make profits and I will discuss these throughout the website. But for now, I'll briefly introduce arbitrage.

If you know a little bit about sports arbitrage already, you will know that most arbitrage (arb) opportunities are 1% or 2%. The safe ones at least!

Let's take an example...

England versus Australia in a World Cup soccer match.

A single bookmaker will quote odds of maybe...

England: 1.6, Draw: 3.2, Australia: 5.5

Now, if you were to bet 100 euro equally on all of those options, you would end up with...

England: 55.84 euro, Draw: 27.92 euro, Australia: 16.24 euro

The problem here is that, whichever result happens, you will make a loss of over 10 euro.

Just to note, this is actually how the bookmaker makes a profit. In the above example, the bookmaker has an 'overround' of about 10%.

Now, if you were to take the same game and find the best odds with three bookmakers, you may find an arbitrage opportunity.

So, using three bookmakers...

The first bookmaker thinks England may struggle to win and quotes odds of 1.95

The second bookmaker thinks a draw is less likely and quotes 3.5

For the final bookmaker we can take the example above and quote Australia at 5.5 to win the game.

Again, you split your 100 euro between the outcomes. This time it will be...

England: 52.31 euro, Draw: 29.14 euro, Australia: 18.55 euro

You probably don't think those figures are very much different from the single bookmaker example...

But...

You now stand to make a 2 euro profit regardless of the outcome.

That's sports arbitrage in a nutshell!

So why criticise then? It's just using basic mathematics to legally make you a profit, isn't it?

Yes.

But there are a number of factors that people breeze over as they focus solely on the potential profit to be made.

Don't fall into this trap!

There is a method, however, where you can safely make a return on sports trading.

This technique, we mentioned earlier, is called Matched Betting. It's the surebets-guide way!

If you are unfamiliar with matched betting, don't worry, it's not rocket-science.

As long as you understand how it works, there is no reason why you can't make a few thousand Euro, or whatever currency you prefer, using the surebets guide method.

With the majority of bookmakers, you will find that they only offer a once off sign-up bonus. But by taking advantage of multiple sign-up offers, you can make a nice little return on your investment.
